EFA decided to appoint Hassan Shehata as a
replacement for Marco Tardelli for the end of the current
year.
The Egyptian Football Association chief
executive Mr. Essam Abd El Moneam has announced that
Hassan Shehata will be the new national team coach for
the next couple of months until the new EFA is announced
by the end of the year.
It looked like the Egyptian national team was going
to complete the current year without having a new manager,
however, the EFA decided to appoint Shehata so he can
take charge of the NT till the new EFA take charge and
appoint a new manager.
It is worth mentioning that Tardelli was fired at the
beginning of this month after he lost to Libya in Egypt's
last World Cup qualifying match 2-1.
Many criticized Tardelli for spending much of his time
in Italy instead of Egypt and for e lacking the ability
to deal the team stars like Mido and Hossam Hassan.
Hassan Shehata was an ex-Zamalek player, he won the
last youth African Cup of Nations with the U-20 squad
in Burkina Faso plus he helped his current club Arab
Contractors to win last year's Egyptian Cup and the
Egyptian Super cup as well.
