Following Egypt's defeat at the hands of Libya in WC
quals, the Pharaohs manager Marco Tardelli resigned
from his job and the EFA will search for a new manager.
It has been announced that Mr. Marco Tardelli
will resign from his job as the Egyptian national team
manager. The news came after the Egyptian team almost
lost the chance to to qualify to World Cup 2006 in Germany.
Many resources stated that EFA's Chief
Executive Mr. Essam Abd El Monem had a meeting with
Tardelli on Sunday and agreed with him that he will
have to resign or the EFA will expire his contract.
The news came after the Egyptian media
and fans realized that Tardelli wasn't the right man
for the job. With Tardelli being at helm, Egypt won
only two games out of five matches in the World Cup
qualifying round and the Egyptian team collected only
7 points out of possible 15.
Tardelli's controversial tactics and team
selection, making troubles with many stars like Mido
and starting with players out of their regular positions
were the main reasons beyond the EFA's decision.
