The young Pharaohs failed the first test

First half:

1st min. Early pressure from Germany, but the Egyptian defense managed to cope.

3rd min. Freekick for Egypt after a foul on Ahmed Ghanem Soltan. It came to nothing though.

4th min. Germany's no. 7 managed to fire a shot from inside the area at goal but Hamada Shaaban did well to turn it away for a corner.

5th min. Yellow card for Abdallah El Shahat after a late challenge on Germany's no. 10.

6th min. Great solo effort from Shikabala in the left wing, he managed to win a corner kick in the end but nobody was following.

7th min. Through pass to Ahmed Magdi in the area but the German defense intercepted the pass.

9th min. Freekick in a good position for Egypt in the left wing. The goalkeeper collected the ball easily though.

11th min. Long bass behind the Egyptian defense to their no. 7 but the Egyptian defense managed to clear the situation.

12th min. Ahmed Samir Farag received a good pass from Shikabala and tried to get the ball past his marker but the latter cleared it for a through in.

14th min. Good defending from Abdallah Galal who managed to steal the ball from the feet of Germany's no. 8.

15th min. Germany's no. 7 tried a volley after a cross from the left wing but it went way over the bar.

16th min. Germany's no. 11 advanced with the ball into the area and crossed it low in front of goal, the Egyptian keeper stopped it but he couldn't hold onto the ball but the defense cleared the situation.

19th min. Freekick for Germany from the left wing, Ahmed Magdi did well to clear the ball away though.

20th min. Abdallah El Shahat got the ball at the edge of the box and tried a shot from narrow angle but the ball sailed over the crossbar.

23rd min. Yellow card for Ahmed Samir Farag. He tried to stop the speedy no. 11 of Germany from crossing the ball from the left wing.

24th min. The Egyptian defense did well to clear the cross from the freekick.

26th min. Corner kick for Egypt. Shikabala played it into the edge of the area to Ahmed Ghanem Soltan who tried to shoot but his shot was blocked by defense.

28th min. Hossam Ashour sent a superb through pass into the area but the German last man headed the ball away superbly.

Shikabala overly used his skills

29th min. Abdallah Galal did superbly well to win the ball from a German forward.

30th min. FIRST REAL CHANCE FOR EGYPT! A superb through pass to Abdallah El Shahat behind the defense, he tried to bury it past the keeper with one touch but the German keeper managed to stop the ball as it lacked power.

32nd min. Ahmed Samir Farag got the ball just outside the German area, he decided to shoot but his shot went well well wide.

34th min. WHAT A CHANCE! Shikabala advanced with the ball from the left and crossed it into the area, El Shahat tried to get to the ball but he couldn't and another chance went begging.

35th min. Germany's no. 7 Advanced with the ball from the left wing and fell inside the box but the referee whistled for a goalkick for Egypt.

37th min. The ball was lain to Germany's no. 11 Jansen who fired a shot from the edge of the box at goal but his shot wasn't accurate enough and went for a goal kick for Egypt.

39th min. Freekick for Germany from the right wing but the Egyptian defense cleared the danger.

42nd min. Dangerous low cross into Egypt's area but the defense cleared the situation.

45th in. Dangerous attack for Egypt. The Egyptian forwards lacked confidence and the ball went to Shikabala in the end who won a corner kick after a shot from narrow angle.

45+1 Superb shot from Ahmed Magdi was denied by the German goalkeeper who turned the ball away for a corner.
