Egyptian bus destroyed by Algerians

Dear FIFA..

This is a message from Egypt and from all the Egyptians.

Because we know that this honorable organization seeks fair play.

Because fair play are not two simple words, but they carry a huge meaning to the world.

Because football was never a sport of war or blood, and it has been and will always be a sport of peace and uniting nations.

We send you this message..

We, the citizens of Egypt, this country that has successfully hosted one of the best U20 World Cups throughout history. We send you this email because we know that you will never let the words fair play go to the ground. FIFA, in front of your own eyes, we hosted an excellent tournament, full of fair play and with not one mistake. We broke the record of fans attending the tournament, which means that we have one of the best set of fans in the world. Those fans who love this sport and wanted to show Egypt in the best ever picture, and who did show you that we deserve all credit and that we deserved to host this tournament.

We, the Egyptians are going through one of the toughest periods throughout our history. This long message is to show how we –the fans who made the last U20 world cup come out in the best picture- were treated by Algerians, throughout our campaign in the World Cup qualifiers. We will uncover all the details that happened before, after, and within the match, using every kind of evidence we can get. From newspaper articles, to video footage, and to pictures. We will send all this, with all written details of what happened. We are asking FIFA to open a huge investigation intp what happened, and what happened will be evident after what will follow in this report. Finally, we would like you to read through this thoroughly to uncover the Algerian plan to kick us out of World Cup qualification, using all unethical ways that were a total disgrace to football.

In order to not mix up issues, we will explain all events in the sequence these events happened in. From the 1st game in Cairo, Egypt on November 14th, and the decider in Sudan on November 18th. The explanations will be supported with pictures and footage and newspaper articles. Most evidences will be in Arabic; therefore it’s important that a translator is present, so everything can be explained thoroughly and truly to your honorable members. Finally, these events are events before, within and after these games.

Egypt-Algeria 2-0 14/11/09 Cairo Stadium

The 1st incident (The beginning of the conspiracy)

The Breaking down of the Algerian bus 12/11/09

The 1st incident this week, was when the Algerian team arrived at Cairo airport and were ready to get into the bus to go to the hotel which is called Le Passage, and it is around 5 minutes from the airport. Before going into details, we would like to state that before the arrival of the Algerian team, there were some articles in Algerian newspapers that kept warning their team of any attacks from the Egyptians. With looking at the history, we will find out that because of what happened in Algeria in the first game against Egypt in 7-6-09, from poisoning the Egyptian players (ask any of Egypt’s players or staff) and throwing fireworks at the Egyptian players in Mostafa Chaker stadium, we will find out that the Algerians were in fear because they always thought that Egyptians will treat them in the same disgraceful way. Back to the event of 12/11/09, we all heard about the breakdown of the windows of the bus transporting the Algerian team by Egyptian fans. The scenario the Algerians said was that there were a bunch of Egyptian fans on the side of the road who were throwing stones on the players until the glass broke and two players got injured from the attack. Well, Mr. Blatter and respectable FIFA members, it was shown clearly that THE GLASS OF THE BUS WINDOWS FELL OUTWARD, so how was it broken from the outside; if it was broken from the outside then the glass would’ve been lying down inside the bus, but there was not one piece of glass inside the bus itself. Besides, Rafik Sayfi’s video from inside the bus, did not show any Egyptians outside the bus, streets were empty, so how come Egyptians broke the windows with glass from the outside. Our second proof is that, there is video footage from Algerians, when they entered the hotel that they caused a lot of chaos over there, and when the video was taken, it did not show any injured players. To add on this, it shows an ALGERIAN PLAYER BREAKING THE GLASS OF THE BUS BEFORE LEAVING IT. Also, the artificial blood on the players’ faces is neatly drawn on their faces, so it really shows it was their scenario. Finally the bus driver said and swore that Algerians broke the bus from the inside and that they attacked him roughly and his shirt was cut from the middle. The following link is SAIFI’S video that does not show any proof whatsoever of an Egyptian attack to the bus, it only shows a couple of Egyptians outside holding flags with no stones at all. Watch it and judge: and NOTICE THAT THERE IS NOT ONE PIECE OF GLASS INSIDE THE BUS:

This other link shows the chaos at the hotel and ONE ALGERIAN PLAYER BREAKING THE WINDOW FROM INSIDE:

The 2nd incident (Algerian newspapers claiming that Algerians were found dead after the Cairo game) (After the game)

Everyone was surprised to find out that Algerian newspapers (Al nahar, Alshorook) claimed that Algerian fans were found dead after the game from fights with Egyptian fans. Everyone knows that there were no fights or confrontations between the Algerian fans and the Egyptians after the Cairo game, therefore the Algerian Ambassador talked about it, and said that there were no deaths whatsoever from the Algerian fans. This totally meant that these newspapers were totally lying about what they said, and this news totally was the reason for upcoming incidents from Algerians in both Algeria and Sudan.

The 3rd incident (Algerians attacking Egyptians in Algeria) (After the game)

Severe attacks were on the Egyptians in Algeria in the aftermath of fake newspaper articles from the 2 Algerian newspapers. Egyptair, Oascom Telecom, and Arab contractors (3 Egyptian companies) headquarters in Algeria were severely attacked by Algerians and a lot of Egyptians were injured from these attacks. Video footage shows the burning down of the Egypt Air office and the Algerians breaking into the other two companies. Egyptians were calling for help when they were attacked, and the Egyptian government called the Algerian ambassador to ensure the Egyptians’ safety in Algeria. Most Egyptians left Algeria after these attacks trying to escape their fate, and most came back to Egypt without even having time to collect their clothes or things because they were in a hurry and trying to avoid Algerian attacks. These are links to video footage that shows the attack on the Egyptian companies in Algeria:

The 4th incident (Algerians at Cairo Airport)

Algerians attack and destroy Cairo Airport after the game on their way out of Egypt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrAaFdMRf9c

FIFA, the past incidents clearly showed that the Algerians were the ones that caused the chaos and they were the ones claiming they were attacked, but video footage showed they were not. Professional player should never react to fans’ chants, let alone swear and spit at them at them, vandalise public buildings, or physically assault airport staff. And all of this lead to the following disaster: what happened in Sudan for the final game:

Egypt-Algeria 0-1 18/11/09 Om Durman Stadium

The 1st incident (The Attack on the Egyptian Bus) (16/11/09)

After the Egyptian team arrived in Sudan, everyone thought that because the game is not in Algeria or Egypt, the game will pass by peacefully with no problems. Everyone was proved wrong when the first incident happened - this was when the Egyptian bus was attacked by Algerian fans in Sudan. Although it was not a really strong attack, but it was still an attack, and it caused terror to the Egyptians. If FIFA investigates one attack (to Algeria in Egypt), it must also investigate this attack, no doubt. The following is a video footage of the Egyptian bus attack after the bus was attacked by the Algerian fans:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQfWI_5Bn5g&feature=related

The 2nd incident (Egyptian players Zidan, Aboutrika and El-Hadary receiving threats)

Both the Egyptian number 9, number 5 and the goalkeeper received death threats on their mobile phones from Algerian numbers. This lead to the Egyptian players feeling the terror before and during the game. FIFA should open an investigation regarding this issue. If the Algerians were found guilty then this should be punishable.

The 3rd incident (One of the most important, Algerians buying swords and knives and holding them inside the stadium)

The Algerian fans carried knives, swords, and weapons inside the stadium, these weapons were used after the game in a huge Egyptian bloodbath. Sudanese explained that most knives were bought from the market to the extent that a knife with 1 pound has been sold with 10 pounds. We request another investigation regarding this issue. This clearly shows that they were planning something after the game. The son of the Egyptian President said that the players felt greatly intimidated when they saw these weapons as they came onto the pitch. The following is a video footage showing Algerians carrying knives and swords inside the stadium, and from their voice and songs they are singing we can be sure they are Algerians:

The 4th incident (An Algerian singer saying that they will kill at least 10 Egyptians in Sudan after the match and an Algerian fan cursing Egypt and the Egyptians and stating that what will happen in Sudan against the Egyptian fans is much more than what the Algerians did in Algeria against the Egyptians)

The Algerian singer is named Reda Cite

The 5th incident (Rouraua the head of Algerian FA refuses to shake hands with Samir Zahir the head of Egyptian FA in front of the Sudanese President and a lot of ministers and VIP’S). Zahir said he would go to kiss his head as a sign of peace and respect.

The following is video footage as proof for what I just said

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C40JklBDJWI&feature=player_embedded

Before the game, some Algerian fans jumped into the pitch of Om Durman stadium, when you clearly STATED A WARNING TO BOTH THE EGYPTIAN AND ALGERIAN ASSOCIATION THAT IF ANY OF THE FANS ENTERED THE PITCH, THE TEAM THAT THESE BELONG TO WILL BE DISQUALIFIED EVEN IF THEY WIN THE MATCH.

The 6th incident (Egyptians severely attacked by Algerians in the streets of Khartoum after the match)

This is the most important incident of all, or actually they are a series of incidents. Firstly, it was found out that Algerians went to Sudan before the game with two days and bought almost all knives in the market (no problems with that). But the problem Mr. Blatter comes when they use these knives to attack Egyptians after the game. The following footage shows the Algerian fans carrying knives and swords inside the stadium:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJCyMpeBsJA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8HT2dDckEY&feature=related

It all started when after the game, the Egyptian fans rode their busses and were on their way to the airport. Suddenly a bunch of Algerians came out of nowhere on the roads, riding microbuses and started throwing stones and knives at all the Egyptian buses. The bus windows broke down to pieces. Algerians threatened the drivers to make them stop the buses, and some drivers did surrender and stop the buses. When they were attempting to go up the buses to hit and kill the Egyptians, some of the latter fled the whole area searching for somewhere to hide. Others were captured by Algerians on the streets of Khartoum and were severely injured. Egyptians who managed to run away hid in Sudanese people’s homes waiting for everything to calm down. For hours the Algerians were everywhere in Khartoum streets searching for any Egyptian to stab. Egyptian fans tried to reach the airport but its doors were closed, and some of the fans took off their Egyptian flag clothes in order to not make the Algerians notice them. Some of them wore Algerian flags so they can go safely to the airport. The final scene was at the Khartoum airport where all the Egyptians ran to the runway waiting for the planes, with no passport stamps or anything, plane after plane arrived, and Egyptians got on any plane that was headed to Cairo. It was a nightmare for those fans, who did not do anything but go to cheer for their team. The Algerian hooligans kept going around searching for any Egyptians, using their knives and swords to threaten any Egyptian on the streets. The results were

1-Around 30 Egyptian fan buses destroyed from Algerian stones and swords

2-According to the Egyptian minister of health Mr. Hatem Al-Gabaly: 21 Egyptian were severely injured due to the Algerian attacks. (This was said by the minister on the Egyptian Satellite Channel, contact them for footage)

3-A lot of Egyptians were lost around the streets of Khartoum not knowing where to go.

Egyptian authorities tried to interfere and ensure the fans’ safety but it was too late. The Algerian hooligans were already everywhere on the streets stabbing any Egyptian in their way. The following is footage of the first Egyptian fans injured from Sudan:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihBKaYNs_qM&feature=player_embedded (This video shows Egyptians at Cairo airport once landing from Sudan talking to the cameras about what happened in this horrific night)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqrxNOEc48g&feature=player_embedded (one of Egypt’s famous singers who was with the Egyptian fans in Sudan explaining what happened. So important is this man, he was phoned by Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak while he was hiding in a Sudanese house – you can also find his phone-call to Cairo Today programme in which he screams “we’re dying!”)

The following links show Mr. Alaa Mubarak (Egypt’s president’s son) saying what he witnessed in Algeria to an Egyptian programme.

Finally, after telling you the events in its true sequence, and putting video footage explaining everything that has happened from the Algerian claims that we Egyptians destroyed their bus, which is an absolute lie. Moving through what happened in Algeria and finally in Sudan during and after the match, we as Egyptians certainly hope that you received the true picture about what happened.

Looking back through our own football history, and more specifically at the 1994 World Cup qualifiers, there was a game between Egypt and Zimbabwe and a win for Egypt meant qualification for the 2nd round of the qualifiers. The game ended 2-1 for the Egyptian team at Cairo stadium, which meant qualification. But, because of ONE rock thrown at the end of the game, the FIFA decided to have a rematch in France which ended 0-0 and Egypt lost the place in the 2nd round.

We stated this example to show you that we paid the price of hooligans before, and it was only the use of rocks that lead to a rematch. The matter in hand is much stronger and more serious. Here we are talking about thousands of Algerian hooligans chasing Egyptians with swords and knives around the streets of Khartoum. More than 21 Egyptians injured from the attacks, where they were homeless because it was not in our country. These actions of Algerians show how violent they are. We as Egyptians think, and we think that yourselves (FIFA) as the governing body of football should comprehend that Algerian fans in South Africa 2010 next summer may cause a disaster in the tournament. Those people are a total shame to football and to all the fans around the world.

Finally, we Egyptians are seeking justice, and we are sure that the FIFA is a fair association, that will not like to see thousands of people threatened and horrified because of a football match; after all, our aim is fair play. Also, we started thinking, what if we had won the game, 10000 Egyptians would have been dead by now in Sudan. Mr. Blatter, we are seeking equality and justice for what happened against us in Om Durman and Khartoum. We have been punished before for incidents we did, but this time we are the victims.

Therefore,

What we will write is this one GENERAL statement

“What happened in the match between Egypt and Algeria in Sudan from “terrorism” (as Mr Alaa Mubarak called it) of the masses of Algeria and the conspiracy of the Algerian Football Association does not belong to football and is inconsistent with the policy of fair play of FIFA. From the first thing that happened before the game which was the Algerian fans going onto the pitch and what happened from the Algerian football players before the match and during the national anthems of both teams and the terrorism suffered by the Egyptian public before and after the game in Sudan and Algeria, all this has had a clear impact on the outcome of the game, so please FIFA undertake the appropriate decision to write off the Algerian national team or play a re-match behind closed doors”

Mr. Blatter and the FIFA organization, thank You for your time, and we hope that you went through this report thoroughly and we are sure that you will stay with your slogan about football, about this sport that we all love, and would never allow terror to enter it whatsoever. This slogan is:

Fair Play

The Egyptian fans
