Egypt kicked off the World Cup 2006 qualification campaign with a sweet away victory against Sudan.

First half:

5th min. Long range effort from Sudan. The ball went way over though.

8th min. GOAL FOR EGYPT! Superb through pass to Abd Raboh in the right wing, he crossed into the area to find Abdel Halim Ali who headed it into the back of the net.

9th min. Abdel Halim managed to carry on after a picking up an head injury.

11th min. Another long range effort from Sudan. The ball missed the target by just inches this time.

12th min. Through pass to Abdel Halim Ali but he was in offside position.

14th min. Another Egyptian player was caught offside. The Sudanese team is clearly using the offside trap tactic.

15th min. Freekick for a foul on Hassan Mostafa. It came to nothing though.

18th min. Nice build up from the Pharaohs. A though pass was delivered from El Saka into the right wing but the cross lacked power and the defense cleared the situation.

20th min. Long range effort from the Egyptian side. The Sudanese defense blocked the shot though.

21st min. Pressure from Sudan but the Egyptian defense was able to cope.

23rd min. One-two pass between Abo Treka and Abdel Halim Ali didn't work and the Sudanese side made a quick counter attacking move. However, it came to nothing.

24th min. Freekick for Sudan in a good position after a foul by Hassan Mostafa. El Tabi managed to head the ball clear after the cross from the right wing.

25th min. Fast counter attack for Egypt. However, Abdel Halim gave the ball away to a defender.

27th min., Freekick for Egypt just outside the area after a foul on Abdel Halim. The referee brandished a yellow card for El Moez Mahgoub from Sudan.

28th min. ABD RABBOH ALMOST SCORED! The Sudanese e keeper managed to turn it away for a corner. Brilliant save!

30th min. Corner kick for Egypt. Hassan Mostafa was heavily marked and his header went harmlessly wide.

31st min. Abdel Wahab crossed from the left wing, but nobody was inside the area.

32nd min. Abdel Halim got the ball in the left flank under heavy pressure from his marker but managed to win a freekick in a good position.

33rd min. tricky Abd Raboh played it low at goal but the keeper managed to save it!

34th min. Corner kick for Sudan. It went dangerously into the area but nobody was following.

38th min. Yellow card for Abdel Halim Ali. He spoke too much with the referee.

39th min. Abd Raboh got the ball behind defense and crossed it low to Abdel Halim. The latter lost the ball and fouled his marker.

41st min. Freekick for Egypt after a harsh foul on Abo Treka in midfield. Mohamed Ahmed from Sudan was booked because of this foul.

42nd min. Dangerous attack from Sudan. A low pass was made to an onside Sudanese player but Egypt's defense cleared the danger.

45+1 min. Through pass to Islam El Shater in the right wing. He had all the time in the world to cross the ball to the unmarked Ali in the box but he shot it over the bar. A chance went begging!

End of the first half

Second half:

Sudan made two substitutions in the half time break.

46th min. WHAT A MISS FROM EGYPT! Abdel Halim Ali got the ball in the left side of the area, he cut inside and laid the ball to Hassan Mostafa who oddly missed the target from a very close range!!!

51st min. ABO TREKA DOUBLED THE SCORE FOR EGYPT! The goal story started with a left wing cross from Sudan into Egypt's area. The all was cleared to find Hommos who started a counter attack for Egypt by playing a long ball to Abdel Halim Ali in the left flank. Ali sent the ball to Abo Treka who played it across the field to Hommos in the right wing. The latter sent it low to Abdel Halim in the right side of the area and Ali passed it low to Abo Treka in front of goal. The Ahly forward stopped the ball and buried it with his right into the lower corner.

54th min. EGYPT ALMOST SCORED THE 3RD. Abd Raboh got the ball behind defense in the right side of the area, he dribbled his marker and sidestepped the keeper as well. He had the time to pass to Abdel Halim Ali in from of goal but he preferred to shoot himself and a defender headed the ball off the line.

56th min. Yellow card for Abd Raboh from Egypt.

57th min. CONFIDENT EGYPTIANS ALMOST SCORED ANOTHER ONE! A right wing cross was met by the head of Abdel Halim Ali by the keeper parried it for a corner.

58th min. Another Sudanese substitution. They already made two changes in the half time break!!

60th min. Abo Treka was caught in offside position.

62nd min. Nice build up from Egypt ended with a low shot from almost an impossible angle by Ali. The keeper managed to save it.

63rd min. Egypt made a substitution. Hazem Emam in, Hommos out.

65th min. Emam sent the ball low to Hassan Mostafa in the left wing, he was behind the defense and the keeper came out of his net and slide the ball for a thrown in!!

66th min. ANOTHER CHANCE WASTED! Abo Treka sent a through pass to Abdel Halim Ali, he outpaced his marker and shot the ball at goal but the keeper parried it away to find Abo Treka who tried to chip it over him this time but it went over.

69th min. Freekick in a dangerous position for Sudan. Richard sent the ball into the clouds though!

70th min. Another substitution for Egypt. Abd Raboh out, Tarek El Sayed in.

71st min. DANGER IN EGYPT'S AREA! The defenders failed to clear a high ball and it fell inside the box to find Sudan no. 7 who luckily blazed it over the bar from close range.

72nd min. MORE DANGER FROM SUDAN! A cross was delivered from the right wing into the area, El Hadary fumbled it but he managed to collect the ball again after a second attempt!

75th min. Long range effort from Sudan but the ball went well wide.

76th min. Bullet drive from Tarek El Sayed at goal but the keeper parried it for a corner.

77th min. Nice dribbling from El Sayed in the right side of the area, he then crossed the ball high to Abdel Halim Ali who powered a header at goal but the keeper saved it in style.

78th min. Emam fell in the area but the referee said play on!

80th min. Superb direct play from Egypt ended with a left wing cross from El Sayed to Abdel Halim in the area but the ball was blocked before reaching him.

82nd min. Freekick for Sudan. Richard tried a shot from way out but it was blocked by defense. The ball reached another player who tried to shoot on the volley but it went way over.

83rd min. Through pass to El Shater. He was clean through but he gave the ball away to the goalkeeper!!!

84th min. Third substitution for Egypt. Abdel Halim Ali out, Ahmed El Sayed in.

86th min. Pressure from Sudan ended with a corner kick. The ball was played short and then crossed low in front of Egypt's goal but it hit an Egyptian and went into the arms of Hadary.

87th min. ABDEL WAHAB MADE IT 0-3 FOR EGYPT! He played a nice one-two, got in one on one situation with the keeper and sent it into the far corner. 0-3 now.

89th min. El Hadary did well to stop a shot from outside the area.

90+3 Abo Treka started another attack for Egypt. He passed the ball low to Hassan Mostafa in the right side of the area and the latter sent the ball low to him. Abo Treka then tried to bury it into the top corner but the keeper managed to save it.
