It looks like Egypt will not be able to find a new manager for a long time. The Egyptian Football Association's long search for a new forigein coach is still on and with even more coaches added to Egypt's shortlist, it could take a while.

After there were talks about Bruno Metsu being the new manager, time has just shown that Mr Metsu has asked for a very high salary that the Football Federation cannot afford to pay.

Today the Egyptian newspapers have been talking about Mr Shafer, the Cameroon coach, to be the new national team manager, but time will only show us the conclusion.

Other names like Manuel Jose (Ahly coach), Kapral (former Zamalek coach), Ruud Krol, Phillipe Troussier, Henri Istanpol and many more, are named as being possibilities to get the Egyptian manager hot seat.

It is worth mentioning that Mahmoud El Gohary who managed Egypt twice, and is the only man to win the ACN as a player and manager, said to the BBC that he will not accept the Egypt job should it be offered to him again.
