The Pharaohs managed to win the friendly against Sweden by a single goal scored by Ahmed Bilal. The game was generally dull from both sides despite Bilal's goal and few other attempts on goal throughout the game. Rather than this, the gameplay was restricted to midfield area. It is worth mentioning that the Swedish side didn't come with their best line-up as they lacked their attacking trio, Zlatan, Larsson and Ljunberg.

EGYPT: Nader, El Tabe'y, El Saka, Abdel Hady, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Tamer Abdel Hamid, Tarek El Sayed, Hany Said, Barakat, Bilal and Mido.

Bilal-Mido combination proved to be lethal once again

10th min. GOAL FOR EGYPT! Tamer Abdel Hamid did well to intercept a pass in midfield and sent the ball to Mido, Hossam then made a one two pass with Bilal and sent a low drive at goal, the ball came off a defender and went to Bilal who was onside, got in one on one situation with Hedman and buried the ball past him with his left to make it 1-0 for Egypt.
