The last preparation game for our national team proved
a disaster as they drew with Burkina Faso with a 1-1
scoreline. Egypt's first half performance saw two good
chances for Mido and one for Hazem, none of which went
in. Mido's first attempt was saved for a corner while
the second was held by the goalie after some great footwork.
Hazem's was an overhead kick which was saved. Burkina
meanwhile managed to score via a wonderful strike near
the half-hour mark

Did he play his best team?
The second half saw a fast tempo start from Egypt,
and they almost scored ten seconds into it when Belal
ran through but didn't manage to beat the goalkeeper.
Substitute Ahmed Fathy's through pass to Belal astonished
the opposing defence, and the Ahly striker scored to
make it 1-1.
Straight after this Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' was shown the
red card. Tarek El Saeed was fouled harshly, and the
following defender attempted to blast at Tarek's face.
Tarek got up unhappily and was head-butted by the same
player. As a result, Mido came running and pushed the
Burkina man, before the fight saw more players and security
involved. In the fight, Mido was kicked by the same
man. After the few minutes, Mido and the Burkina player
were given a red card each, and another yellow was given
to the Burkina captain who had attempted to punch Mido
at one stage. The crowd sand the Marseille star's name,
but both teams were down to ten men.
After this, the remainder of the match saw attempts
from Egypt to break down the defence but it was not
to be. Mohsen Saleh has more questions to answer about
this last match before the African Cup of Nations...
