EGYPT: Nader, El Tabe'y, El Qabbani, Abdel Hady, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Tamer Abdel Hamid, Tarek El Sayed, Tarek El Said, Hazem Emam, Ahmed Hassan and Mido.



First half:

2nd min. Freekick for Egypt in the right wing, it was delivered high into the area but everyone missed it and it went for a goalkick.

4th min. Through pass into Egypt's area, El Qabbani was covering and the danger was cleared.

6th min. Ahmed Hassan tried a shot with his left from way out but it lacked power and the keeper had no problems saving it.

7th min. McCarthy did well to cross the ball from inside the box, but no one was following and the ball went for a goal kick.

9th min. Right wing cross from Hassan to the oncoming Mido inside the area, the latter headed it wide though.

10th min. Emam got the ball just outside the area, he sent a low drive at goal but the keeper managed to save it

15th min. WHAT A MISS FROM MIDO! Tarek El Sayed raced clear in the right wing, he spotted Mido in the area and crossed the ball to him. The Egyptian striker connected with a diving header but it missed the target.

27 min. Freekick for a foul for Egypt. Mido tried to chip it over the wall into the area but the defense cleared the situation.

39th min. McCarthy got the ball in the clear inside the area. He tried a low shot at goal but it missed the target and went for a goalkick.

42nd min. Tarek El Sayed did well to dribble past a player and sent a bullet drive at goal. His shot missed the target by inches though.

45th min. Right wing cross was made from the right wing into Egypt's area. South Africa's no. 18 tried to chip it past Nader but luckily the ball missed the target.

45th min. Superb one-two between Mido and Emam. The latter got the ball inside the area and tried to lay it in front of goal but the defense managed to intercept Emam's low pass.

End of the first half.

Second Half:

Egypt made a substitution in the half time break, Nader came out and Abdel Wahed El Sayed came in.

48th min. GOAL FOR SOUTH AFRICA! A poor clearance by El Qabbani was met by the head of Zuma who headed it back into the area to find McCarthy who jumped high to beat El Qabbani for the header in the air, he then headed the ball gently and smartly into the back of the net.

54th min. Tarek El Said sent a low shot from the edge of the area at goal but the keeper managed to turn it away for a corner.

Bilal and Hani Said came on to replace Emam and El Said.

66th min. Long range shot from Tarek El Sayed went just over the crossbar.

The Egyptians started pressing hard with Ahmed Hassan, Bilal, Mido and Tarek El Sayed. The attacks proved to be extremely dangerous and the South African defense started to look confused.

75th min. EGYPT EQUALIZED! Medhat Abdel Hadi sent a shot from way out and the ball went straight into the top corner. 1-1 now.

After the goal, gameplay became more even and restricted to midfield area. The chances were very few because the Bafana Bafana tightened the spaces in their defense.

88th min. Nomvete got the ball just inside the box and powered a rising shot at goal, but the ball luckily sailed over the bar.

90th min. GOOOAAAL FOR EGYPT! Mido did it and the Pharaohs emerged victorious in the end. Tarek El Sayed got the ball in the left wing and sent a superb looping cross into the area to find Mido who met the cross with his head and scored.
