Feyenoord to try Ikrami next season

Feyenoord stated that Sherif Ikrami will come back to Rotterdam to trial again in next season's preparations.

Returning to Rotterdam:

The club announced that they would like to have a closer look at Sherif Ikrami, and watch him in action in a game. (This is similar to Ghaly's start at Feyenoord, when he played a friendly game against Manchester City).

Many suggest that Feyenoord had not actually chosen to trial Ikrami, but he was there for a week simply training with the club, because he wanted to be with his friend Hossam Ghaly, who hosted him in the Netherlands.

Sherif Ikrami was checked however by Feyenoord, but perhaps not closely enough. Feyenoord wanted to check the goalkeeper in a game on Friday, but for unclear reasons, that didn't happen, and Ikrami had to leave. It is possible that this is due to him being unhappy, or that he simply needed to go.

Has Ikrami chosen Auxerre?:

On the other hand, a different source, an Egyptian newspaper, reported that even though Feyenoord were serious on Sherif Ikrami, the goalkeeper chose to trial at Auxerre in France. This may be the reason for his quick departure from Rotterdam.

It is suggested that Feyenoord were ready to pay €800,000 for Ikrami, but instead of this, the keeper himself chose to ignore, and trial at Auxerre instead.
