Despite his delightful goal, Zidan was unhappy after the defeat

Mohamed Zidan came on during half time in Hamburg's first match in the Emirates cup against the Spanish giants Real Madrid. The Egyptian forward showed his coach Martin Jol what he can do against one of the strongest teams in the world by a scoring a dream goal and having two close attempts as well.

Jol decided to start with Ivica Olic and Guerrero at front, in addition to this, Pitroipa assisted them from behind. The formation was quite effective and Hamburg created many chances during the first half. However, poor finishing from Guerrero helped Dudek to keep a clean sheet in the first half.

Real Madrid didn't create alot of chances but they were always dangerous when they have the ball. In the opening minutes, Van Nestelrooy squandered an easy chance from a one on one situation with the keeper but in the 25th minute, he scored with ease from the six yards box to give Real Madrid the lead.

In the 2nd half, Jol made a few changes, He brought on Benjamin, Zidan at expense of Ttrochoveski and Atouba. Zdan had an immediate impact, he received a pass from Jarolim and shot the ball from the edge of the box but it went just wide.

In the 53rd minute, Jarolim sent a low short pass to Zidan at the edge of the box, the Egyptian controlled the ball and made a nice feint to get space for his shot and placed the ball superbly into the top corner to hit the underside of the crossbar and go in. Zidan's goal was simply world class as he managed to shoot despite the marking from Gabriel Heinze and Salgado and placed the ball out of the reach of the ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Dudek.

After Zizou's goal, both sides made many changes in their lineup. Real introduced the start Robinho to the pitch and the latter made huge impact with his skills and shots.

Just five minutes before the final whistle, Real Madrid scored the winning goal from a powerful header while in the last minute, Zidan had a chance after a fine pass from Jarolim but he couldn't hit the target from narrow angle.
