It seems that Mohamed Zidan is
becoming an undeeded player in HSV day after day. HSV
former legend Uwe Seeler spoke about the Egyptian and
declared that Zidan didn't show enough professionalism
at HSV to justify his high price tag. He also added
that Zidan's beautiful tricks and technical play are
not needed unless he uses his skills for the benefit
of the team.
Can anyone remember a technical player
in the German national team? The answer will most likely
be , No. German football and Bundesliga is all about
teamplay, strong tactics, physical play, taking maximum
advantage of spot kicks and the minimal use of individual
skills.
German football never been attractive
to football fans but it remains as one of the most successful
all over the world.
The problem with Zidan is playing in a
very physical league that will never let him enjoy his
football and entertain the audience.
A German football legend spoke on HSV's
latest problems and particularly on Egyptian striker
Zidan. He pointed out that the Egyptian striker will
not be able to replace Van der Vaart if the latter joined
another club this summer. He also criticized Zidan's
professionalism and mentioned that Zidan should be much
more professional in order to justify his high wages
and price tag.
When asked if Zidan can play the role
of Van der Vaart if the latter decided to leave this
summer, Seeler replied:
"Zidan is surely a good striker.
He is still have to prove that in Hamburg though. My
advice to him is to think of his last season as a whole
and evaluate his performance himself. He also has to
realize that Hamburg is not Mainz. The team has bigger
goals and he must put put the club above anything else".
"For the money he gets, he has to be much more professional.
No one needs his beautiful play, he must be a team player".
Aside from these comments, German media reported
the loan offer from Ittehad. Hamburger Morgen Post, for example,
reported the news and criticized the Egyptian as well.
They claimed that Zidan didn't offer much last
season for his 5.8 million EUROs transfer. The Egyptian only
scored a couple of league goals in the whole season. They
also criticized the player's behavior with his teammates as
they described it as childish. They also mentioned that Zidan
became an unpopular player amongst his teammates and this
is now even worse after his public criticism for his former
coach Huub Stevens.
While reports from KSA claimed that the loan
deal is done, Hamburger Morgen Post reported that Zidan will
have to make a clarifying conversation with sport boss Dietmar
Beiersdorfer in order to decide his future plans. They also
reported that Zidan will be allowed to go permanently for
nothing less than five million EUROs.
