Following Mohamed Zidan's interview
with Danish newspaper BT in which the Egyptian blasted
his former manager Huub Stevens, the Dutch manager replied
to Zidan accusations with some harsh words.
Zidan's comments on his former coach Huub
Stevens made the headlines in many international websites.
This resulted in a response from Huub Stevens to Zidan's
accusations.
Stevens accused Zidan of lack of bravery
as he waited till Stevens departure to blast him.
"It is not a brave act to blast me
after my departure, but this tells me more of what kind
of person he is".
"I gave him the chance at start of
season but he didn't do good enough. I am responsible
for the team and results but not the happiness of every
one".
"My relation with my former players
was good and I still have good relations with them even
after my departure".
"He is one of the best paid players
at the club but his performance wasn't amongst the best".
It should be noted that Stevens gave Zizou the chance in the
first three Bundesliga matches, but he wasn't patient enough
with the Egyptian and brought him to bench for rest of season
even after Zizou's great performances with Egypt in the Cup
of Nations.
It is also worth mentioning that such accusation
from Stevens of Zidan for lacking bravery and waiting for
his departure to blast him does look unrealistic as the Egyptian
would face ban from first team or a huge wage fine if he made
such comments with Stevens still at helm.
Shall the story develop further? only time will
tell...
