Egyptian striker Amr Zaki revealed that Manchester City have launched a bid worth £2 million to sign the 23 year old hitman from Zamalek.

Zaki was qouted on "The Sun" saying: "My club Zamalek have received an official approach from Manchester City and now I just have to arrange the medical.

"It's very exciting. Like most players I've always wanted to play in the Premiership and I think I will do well there.

"I watch a lot of Premiership action on television and think my style will suit the game in England. Hopefully, the deal will go through."

It should be noted that Zaki is the 2nd Egyptian that is linked with a move to the Premiership in January as Wael Gomaa is close to sign for Blackburn Rovers in the next transfer window as well.
