Amr Zaki assures all his fans that he has not been dropped from the Lokomotiv team, but that it has been an injury problem that has stopped him from featuring and nothing else. He adds that he doesn't regret his decision of moving to Russia; he has simply been unlucky due to an injury which has come back to haunt him three years after an operation.

"As far as my situation is concerned, I had an injury in my knee as soon as I went to Russia," revealed Amr Zaki to EgyptianPlayers.com.

"I had the injury since I was with the national team," he added.

"After that I returned to light training - running round the pitch for example - for around 15 days, but got an injury again in my thigh.

"It was a problem I had three years ago when I had to have an operation in my knee. Now, the medical staff say I have to undergo the operation again and it will take two and a half to three months for me to return to the pitch."

Amr Zaki stressed that he does not regret his move but that injury has been the problem stopping him from playing, indicating that even if he went to England he would have been in the same situation. "I'm like any player and I got an injury. Does any injured player play?

"I haven't taken part in anything with the team because of injury. As soon as I went [to Lokomotiv] I got injured.

"I tried to pressure myself to play but I have to do the operation. That's why the club gave me a holiday."

Zaki has had some trouble with communication in Russia due to the language problem, as well as the different climate. He does however want to tell his fans on EP that he will be back and playing as soon as he can.

"Send my regards to everyone at EP," he said.

"I went on the net and saw different news each time in papers and media which aren't at all true.

"It's hard to find out Russian news in Egypt and it's hard for me to give you updates if nobody calls me. Keep calling me (EP) so everyone can keep up-to-date
