POST-MATCH REACTIONS:
It's been a while since Mido's name has
been on so many tongues, but playing against former
club Tottenham, and scoring, is the perfect return for
the hitman.

The week had been started with numerous
reports of Mido leaving Boro. Sources had stated that
the striker was seriously considering a move to UAE
club Al-Ittihad. Mido's entrance, in itself, showed
that he is very much a part of Gareth Southgate's plans.
Newspapers wrote of Mido's "revenge" story;
that he finally got revenge on the club that sold him
when they shouldn't have.
The Mirror labeled the match "Mido Sinks Spurs",
while Sunday's Mail went as far as saying: "Mido
Exposes Flaws in the Ramos Revolution at Tottenham".
Such a headline indicates that the Mido goal was more
than just a goal, but that it embodied Tottenham's downfall.
It represented poor decision making from Spurs, such
as the current dispute with Dimitar Berbatov, which
resulted in him being left out of the line-up for the
game.
At a footballing level, Mido is back as the superb touch
he made to turn the ball in was praised by all. It was
dubbed as showing his "expertise". And in
match reactions, almost every Middlesbrough fan agrees
that Mido, if 100% fit, is one of the main two strikers
at the club and should start.

Spurs were favourites entering this away game, but fans
summed it up "Forty-six million and you can't even
beat a bunch of lads," referring to the big money
spent by Tottenham this season, against the relative
inexperience of Boro. Despite not having a veteran age,
Mido's experience could prove handy for Boro this campaign.
Mohamed Shawky was not in the limelight, but Middlesbrough
have expressed his importance through their written
letter to the Egyptian FA, requesting that he stay in
England and not feature against Sudan later in the week.
The request will certainly be rejected, however.
