Both Mido and Shawky returned back to their club, Middlesboro. The Egyptians started preseason preparations with the rest of their teammates and both looked fit after recovering from thweir injuries.

Mido, in particular, looked in outstanding shape after losing over 12 kilograms of extraweight following a strict regime and hard fitness training during the month that he spent in Egypt.

"Mido's been working with one of our fitness coaches in Egypt for four weeks during the summer," Southgate revealed. "That was something he organised for himself and he's come back in good condition.

Southgate wasn't the only one to praise Mido but the fans also couldn't believe their eyes after watching a clip from the team training, the fans agreed that Mido is going to be big for Boro next season as he looked slim and athletic once again.

Shawky, on the other hand, looked in a good shape as well. The Egyptian might face more competition in midfield especially after the sgning of Paris St Germain's Digard but recent reports linked Boateng with a move to Hull City and this should give Shawky more chances to start next season even with the presence of the new signing Didier Digard.

"George has expressed a desire to move on, he's having talks with a couple of other clubs and that's the decision he's got to make now." said Southgate.
