Ibrahim Said was again not in the match squad for Ankaragucu as they lost in Istanbul to champions Fenerbahce. The Egyptian headed to Egypt after taking a permission from the club chairman Cemal Aydin due to family related reasons.

It was a completely one-sided game with no chances for Ankaragucu and countless attacks for the hosts. There were on occasions huge gaps in the defence and defensive midfield, suggesting that Heema is out of the squad for non-technical reasons.

Ankaragucu did pay a decent amount in order to loan the Egyptian, and so it has become clear that either the coach is not convinced in him, or he is not performing in training for reasons such as contemplating a move back to Al-Ahly. Time will explain Said's relatively uncertain situation which has come as a surprise after he impressed with Rizespor last season.

The match in Istanbul saw fast attacks from Fenerbahce, particularly on the left wing where Roberto Carlos and Mateja Kezman looked very dangerous.

It did take Fener 35 minutes to net, Alex crossing a corner and Mehmet Aurelio heading home. It was controversial though, as the through pass that led to the block which went for a corner had no fewer than three attackers standing in offside positions.

Kezman had three big chances but squandered them all, and there were numerous penalty shouts surprisingly waved away.

In the 92nd minute the easy comfortable win was sealed when Ali Bilgin received a through pass which wripped through the tired defence, and tucked into the goal from 9 yards out.
