El
Hadary helped Sion defeat the runners up of last season,
Young Boys by two goals to one. The Egyptian made a
great reflex save in the opening minute. In the 24th
minute, Hadary conceded a goal as the defender changed
the direction of the ball and it went in. In the 2nd
half Sion managed to score twice to end the game in
a 2-1 win.

They faced the runners up of the previous season at
home. The first match ended in a disappointing 3-1 away
defeat against Aarau but the Egyptian and his teammates
achieved an important win last night.
Ten minutes from the kick off, Essam El
Hadary denied a powerful header from the centre back
of Young Boys. The Egyptian made a great reflex save
to deny Zayat from scoring. The Egyptian keeper hit
the leg of a teammate defender and fel onto the pitch,
after a few minutes he was able to continue the game
though.
In the 24th minute, A cross was delivered
from the right wing, it was headed on by an Young Boys
forward but a Sion defender oddly headed it past El
Hadary leaving the Egyptian goalie with no chance.
Minutes later, the ball was sent back
to Hadary, he sent a long hopeful ball that started
a quick attacking move for FC Sion and almost resulted
in a goal.

In the 42nd minute, Ivorian midfielder S. Die who was
on the verge of signing for Zamalek a few weeks ago
made a harsh sliding tacle on Young Boys team captain.
The match referee showed him a 2nd yellow card and Sion
had to play the entire 2nd half with ten men on the
field.
In the 64th minute and after a foul inside
the box, the referee pointed to the spot and awarded
FC Sion a penalty kick, from which Monterubbio scored
the equalizer.
In the 78th minute, Nigerian striker Adeshina
nade advatage of a fatal error by the centre back of
Young Boys, Zayat and stole the ball from him before
advancing on the keeper, rounding him and scoring the
winning goal.
