HIGHLIGHTS EMBEDDED INSIDE:Essam El Hadary
returned to action after one match suspension and played
a full match versus Lucerne. Sion took the lead first
in the 2nd half from a well placed header and El Hadary
made two excellent saves to keep his side in the lead.
However, after stopping a great header by Lucerne striker,
the player was brought down in the area and the homeside
equalized from a penalty kick.
After missing last week's match for FC Sion due to suspension
after being sent off in the league match versus Vaduz
a couple of weeks ago, El Hadary returned back to the
starting eleven of FC Sion in their away match versus
Lucerne.
El Hadary made a couple of excellent saves
in the match for FC Lucerne striker who looks much like
Chelsea's Didier Drogba. The striker who is known of
having much troubles scoring in Hadary's net.
Similarly, El Hadary tormented the Lucerne forward by
denying him twice. The first chance came from a very
close range shot intio the near post but the Egyptian
keeper was well position and blocked the shot for a
corner.
The 2nd was a great header from the Lucerne
striker but El Hadary made a world class save and parried
the ball. However, the Lucerne forward was fouled inside
the box and the match referee pointed to the spot. The
spot kick was converted with ease and Lucerne pulled
level.
It should be noted that Hadary's side
were leading by a goal which came through a well placed
header in the 46th minute through Obradovic.
It is also worth mentioning that FC Sion's
Adeshina was shown the red card in the 79th minute of
the game and the guests had to play with a one man down
in the remaining eleven minutes.
Ironically, last night's draw was the
fifth in a row between both sides. Sion managed to beat
this team which is currently last in the table in May
24, 2007 but since then, all their meetings with Lucerne
ended in either 0-0 or 1-1 draw.
