Ahmed Ghanem was late for training during the week,
and when he came on during Friday's game showed good
signs but as a whole didn't impress in his club's draw.
On Friday Legia played their 7th league
game of the season. The away trip to Szczecin was only
partially successful as Legia tied with Pogon 2-2.
Very harsh weather conditions in Szczecin made it difficult
to play quick and entertaining football, and as a result
long balls were the dominant tactics from the very beginning
of the game. Legia managed to hold the ball better though
and having slightly better possession they were the
more dangerous team in the first half.
It paid off in the 45th minute. Surma's free kick was
intercepted by Magdon, but unfortunately for Pogon he
headed the ball into his own goal. 1-0 to Legia! Things
got worse for Pogon in the second half.
Legia started with great confidence and in the 54th
minute Szalachowski headed Karwan's cross into the goal.
2-0 to the visitors! At that moment, Legia coach Wdowczyk
decided to make a double change.
Chmiest and Karwan left the pitch, Ghanem and Poledica
entered it. A few minutes later Ghanem had a very good
chance to make it 3-0, but hesitated and Pogon defenders
blocked his shot.
Legia seemed to have lost concentration. Individual
errors led first to Uruguayan striker Milar making it
1-2. A couple of minutes later poor marking in the box
allowed Przemyslaw Kazmierczak of Pogon to equalise.
It was a fantastic volley; the ball was blasted into
the top left corner.
In the final minutes of the match both teams tried to
score the winning goal, but Tralka's and Kielbowicz's
attempts missed goals by inches.

Ghanem Summary:
Ghanem was very misfortunate to enter the pitch at
the wrong moment. The whole Legia team played much worse
from the 60th minute and Ghanem showed nothing special
too. He played as a right midfielder again, but despite
the fact that he was able to appear in the right time
and place at times, his attacking moves lacked efficiency.
His problem was that he waited for too long to pass
the ball to one of his team-mates while his attempts
to dribble past Pogon defenders weren't successful at
all. He also had some marking problems in defence.
It wasn't Ghanem's best game and fans fear it may take
a while before he gets another chance - especially that
Wdowczyk has an eye on him since he was late for training
on a weekday and got fined. Supporters hope these thoughts
will turn out to be wrong though. Legia's next game
is derby match against Polonia Warsaw and it would be
great to see Ghanem scoring against Polonia
