Ghanem and Magdi Shine as Egypt beat Gambia 4-0

Egyptian Olympic team achieved a 4-0 victory over Gambia in the 2nd leg clash in Olympic Games Qualifiers. Four Egyptian professionals participated in the game and appeared in a good shape especially Ahmed Magdi who scored the 2nd goal from a powerful shot and Ghanem who assisted the 3rd and 4th goals.

Egypt advanced to the next round in Olympic games 2008 after a 2nd leg win by four goals to nil. The first leg match ended in a 0-0 draw and so, the Egyptian team won 4-0 on aggregate.

The game was relatively easy for the Pharaohs as the guests played with one man down starting from the 30th minute after the sending off of Osman Cone.

All four professionals in Europe participated in the game. Shikabala played in the left wing while Ahmed Ghanem Soltan played as a right midfielder. The left back Ahmed Magdi also participated in the game while Amro El Halawany came on late in the 2nd half.


Egypt dominated the game from the kick off till the final whistle and had numerous chances. It took the young Pharaohs 33 minutes to take the lead which came through Abdullah El Said who scored via a low shot from inside the box after a clever one two.

The 2nd goal was the best goal for Egypt in the game and it came through the promising Ahmed Magdi who fired a bullet drive with his left from outside the box into the top corner.

In the 2nd half, Egypt added two more goals through Hossam Osama who followed two low crosses from Ahmed Ghanem Soltan.

With this result, the Egyptian Olympic Team will advance to the next round in the qualifying matches..
