Ghaly plays As Reading Thrash Derby 0-4

Date: 12-5-2008
Wrote: EP’s webmaster

Derby will return back to the Championship and Ghaly will be back to Spurs unless he finds a new club. The Egyptian played his last match for the Rams on Sunday as they suffered a 0-4 home defeat at the hands of Reading. On the other side, Boro destroyed Man City by eight goals to one. New striker Alves scored a hattrick while Downing scored twice. Boro had numerical advantage as City's Dunne was sent off in the 15th minute which gave Boro a golden chance to end the season with this massive score.

  • Derby vs Reading:

Even against Reading, Derby couldn't shine! They got hammered at home by four goals without reply. Despite the 0-4 impressive win for Reading, they got relegated together with Birmingham City and Derby county to the Championship.

Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly played the full match but couldn't help with the result. The Egyptian had an average game in the last matchday of the season.

Ghaly will return back to Tottenham as his loan period is about to expire. However, his next destination is still unknown. The Egyptian has interest from some clubs outside England particularly Holland.

    Boro vs Man City:

In absence of Mido and Shawky, Boro ended the season with a great win over Manchester City. They won by eight goals to one after taking full advantage of the sending off of Dunne in the 15th minute of the game.

New signing Afonso Alves ran the show and scored a hat-trick in the game. Steward Downing scored two more goals while Aliadiere, Rochemback and Johnson scored a goal each.

With this result, Boro ended the season 13th in the table and escaped relegation. However, they can still be considered as an underachieving side. Hopefully, with the return of Mido and Shawky next season, they can improve their league standings.

More on Ghaly, Mido and Shawky soon..
