One single mistake and you are out!
This is the Koeman policy, he can be Ronald Koeman or
Erwin Koeman but this won't make a difference. The Koeman
brothers will continue their campaign to free Holland
from Egyptian players.

Erwin Koeman
As Egyptianplayers.com reported earlier,
the coach Erwin Koeman was furious with Hossam Ghaly
after the Egyptian tried to nutmeg an opponent in Feyenoord's
UEFA cup clash with Rapid Bucharest. Ghaly's "showy"
move resulted in a dangerous counter attack for Rapid.
In addition to this, Ghaly's performance was sub-par
in the first half and so, the coach decided to replace
him with the 18 year old youngster De Guzman.
Erwin Koeman acted in a very similar
fashion to his brother, Ronald Koeman who forced Mido
to leave Ajax a few years ago. Erwin Koeman put Ghaly
outside the squad in the match against FC Utrecht which
ended in a humiliating 3-1 defeat for the Rotterammers
for the first time this season.
Of course, this wasn't the best decision
from the coach, as Ghaly was a key member in Feyenoord's
midfield in all their previous games and they won all
these matches with Ghaly in the main selection. The
introduction of an inexperienced youngster in Ghaly's
place cost the whole team dear as they lost their first
match in the Eredivise by three goals to one after showing
a miserable performance.
Erwin Koeman had a talk with Hossam about
his performance and that he must follow his directions,
but it seems that the criticism from the coach was overly
harsh for Ghaly to accept.
"He did not agree with the explanation
I gave him," Koeman told De Telegraph. "He
doesn't seem to understand how we think about football
in Holland. He fills up his position and his role in
the team in his own way and I can't accept that. Certainly
not for the team.
"Our thoughts are really different and if I'm
honest I don't think he can change. He is on his way
to Egypt now and we will discuss his situation with
the club management".
Now, Feyenoord boss Erwin Koeman has warned Hossam
Ghaly that he has one more chance to mend his ways or
face being moved on in January.
History repeats itself:

Ronald Koeman
Before we jump to a conclusion that Ghaly is a badboy
who never listens to his coach and doesn't follow the
directions that the coach give him, we will have to
remind the readers with an identical situation that
happended a few years ago when Mido was playing for
Ajax.
The Egyptian striker was the topscorer of Ajax and
led them to win the Eredivisie and Amstel Cup. However,
in his 2nd season with Ajax, Ronald
Koeman started to criticize Mido in public after
the Egyptian shot the ball from way out while he was
supposed to give it to a teammate. As a result, Koeman
replaced Hossam and attacked him in the post game comments
and since then, the coach-player relation started to
be strained.
The following qoute is from EP's article on August
2003:
"After the game, Koeman criticized the Egyptian
as he tried to shoot while he had the time to pass,
and the coach made a comparison between Mido and Zlatan
as the latter keeps the ball better and plays more for
the team. As a result, Koeman wanted Mido to make improvements
in his style of play and to play more for the team so
he can be the main striker again".
As a result, Mido was relegated to the second team
of Ajax and never
returned to the main team again till he was loaned
out to Celta de Vigo.
Now, history repeated itself in the new
Ghaly-Erwin Koeman clash as the coach gave Ghaly ultimatum
(either follow orders or leave) in an identical way
to Ronald Koeman's way with Mido. So, it will not be
a surprise to see Hossam Ghaly out of the main selection
in the coming games and be prepared to read that he
is on his way to another club in January.
EP's comment:
We all agree that our players should respect
their coaches and follow their orders. However, we are
all against the unprofessional way of treating players
by coaches.
