Farag's Effort Shows With Reserve Goal!
Date: 10-9-2005
Wrote: EP's reporter in France Samy Shoker

Youngster Farag scored while playing with Sochaux's reserves, but still hasn't had a chance with the first team. However, it has been noted that he is constantly improving and putting every effort to make it into the official match squad.

Since this season Ahmed Farag was promoted to the A-team. But for the moment, he has not really had his chance to prove reliable because the competition is hard with great players like the French international prospect Meghni, the proven Mickael Isabey, Philippe Brunel (who was captain of Lille who finished second in the championship behind Lyon last season), and even the Brazilian Ilan.

Sochaux is a sizeable team. They finished 10th last season and Jean-Claude Plessis’ wish (Sochaux’s president) is that the team finishes “in a European place,” which will means in the top eight.

Sochaux are currently 14th after 5 match-days.

Farag is evolving in every way at this club and he is trying day after day to win a titular place, even if this means playing with the reserves sometimes.

And this week when we was called up to the reserves he showed his will to achieve. In the game played against Gap, Farag scored with a beautiful header in the 18th minute after a free kick was played in. But it was not enough and they finally lost 1-2.

Farag completed a good match and he continues to work hard.

We will keep following his progress here on EgyptianPlayers.com…
