According to Feyenoord's official site, Sherif Ekramy played a very good match with the Feyenoord Reserves against AZ Reserves. The game ended in a 4-2 win for Feyenoord.

The article mentioned that manager Koeman would have been looking at the impressive Egyptian. "He is young and talented and you can already see that there is really someone standing in the goal," Koeman said last week, giving his opinion on a training session.

During the match the Egyptian - being watched by fellow Egyptian and friend Hossam Ghaly from the stands - seemed very able. After AZ were first being backed down to their own half, de Alkmaarders got some chances during the 1st half. Ekramy kept eye to eye with AZ players Willy Overtoom and Danny Koevermans and stopped the AZ players from scoring. Sherif's self-confidence must have given the defenders trust. Once, the goalie was left chanceless. Again Overtoom appeared uncovered in front of Ekramy, who didn't stand a chance against the shot from the AZ midfielder.

Two times, newly bought Belgian defender Timothy Derijck made a mistake, with a goal the result. The fault he made before the break kept was unpunished because Ekramy showed himself at his best and saved.
