Egyptian shot stopper Sherif Ekramy might have the
chance to start for the first time this season in Sunday's
away derby match between Feyenoord and Sparta. as the
main keeper Timmer suffered a shoulder injury in today's
training.
Feyenoord's main goalie Henk Timmer had
to leave the Friday training after suffering a shoulder
injury. This will make him doubtful for next Sunday
Rotterdammers derby between Feyenoord Rotterdam and
Sparta Rotterdam.
This might give Ekramy a chance to start
for the first time this season. The Egyptian is currently
the 2nd goalkeeper and remained on bench in the past
month.
It should be noted that Ekramy was out
of action for three months following a shoulder injury
but he got back to action a few weeks ago.
The Egyptian is hopeful of becoming the no. 1 goalie at the
Rotterdam based side. The current coach Van Marwick didn't
give the Egyptian a chance so far but he is going to leave
Feyenoord by the end of season and become Holland's manager.
With Marrwick leaving, Ekramy's chances to play
regularly should be better (hopefully)..
