Feyenoord have said that they will allow
Ekramy to leave if Timmer agrees to sign a two-year
prolongation to his contract. Talks are under way with
the experienced goalie and it's looking as though he
will put pen to paper soon.
In this case Feyenoord will, as EP previously suggested,
let the Egyptian shot-stopper leave, either on loan
or a permanent transfer. Ekramy had told EgyptianPlayers.com
in his latest interview that he hopes to stay at Feyenoord
for a long time, but hinted that he is keen on playing
regularly. Moreover, he added that he would never leave
without he club's permission, which looks like a closer
reality now.
Feyenoord are already looking for a replacement keeper, just
in case. The Rotterdam outfit are currently watching Piet
Velthuizen of Vitesse Arnhem, a 17-year-old talent, who did
recently sign a long contract, however.
Brazilian keeper Darley is now on trial with Ekramy's side.
EP will keep updated on our only goalie abroad...
