Despite the good form of Ekramy in preseason matches and the desire of fans to see the Egyptian as main keeper this season, the club coach Bert van Marwijk decided today that the main keeper will be Henk Timmer and not Ekramy. Feyenoord announced today that Timmer will be the first choice keeper. The Dutch manager revealed: "I have talked about this with Henk and Sherif and they know my reasons."

He added: "I want to leave it with that."

Feyenoord fans had chosen Sherif by a serious majority as their number one goalie, but it seems that Timmer will be given a final season.

A leading Dutch football expert feels that Sherif will not be able to move and that only a serious injury or flop will allow him the chance he wanted this season.

"If Timmer's performances are consistent, then he will play the whole season," he said to EgyptianPlayers.com
