EXCLUSIVE: Sherif
Ekramy spoke out to EgyptianPlayers.com, clearing up
any misinterpretations that may have taken place. The
goalkeeper says he would love to stay at Feyenoord for
years to come, and that he will try his hardest not
to leave the club.
In a call with EP on Wednesday evening,
Sherif said: "I hope nobody misunderstood me when
I said I could leave Feyenoord. I don't want to leave
this club."
He added that he is trying his hardest to be Feyenoord's
first choice, and therefore not need to move. "I
will fight till the last moment to be the number one
at Feyenoord."
However, should he not beat Henk Timmer to selection,
he is keen to advance
his personal career. "If not, I will look for another
option, but of course my number one choice would be
for Feyenoord."
He went on to say: "Feyenoord is the first club
I've gone abroad to professionaly, and I consider it
the club that introduced me to European football.
"I hope that I become number one this season, but if
that doesn't happen I will look at other options.
"I care about Feyenoord but I need to play."
Ekramy continued that he can see himself spending a large
chunk of his career in Rotterdam. "I'd love to play for
Feyenoord for many years to come."
