The former coach of Sherif Ikrami has stated that
Feyenoord are lucky to have signed such a talented goalkeeper.
Moreover, further details of the deal were announced.
Sherif in action in the last Youth World Cup
Al-Ahly goalkeeping coach Ahmed Nagi declared to a
weekly sports paper, "The fact that Sherif Ikrami
has gone to Holland is a big waste for Al-Ahly, as he
has high abilities."
He also added that Ahly could have added to his price
by including him in some more of their games. He was
mostly 3rd choice for the club, and they were happy
to let go of him as they were about to complete the
signing of former Club Brugges and Akratitos goalkeeper
Nader El-Sayed.
The fee that the shot-stopper was sold for was in fact
announced, as just under €300,000.
Nagi also told Feyenoord's goalkeeping coach, while
in the Netherlands, that the club have won a talented
goalkeeper. However, it is reminded that Ikrami will
almost certainly be loaned
out to a Feyenoord satellite club.
More financial terms were also revealed by the paper,
and it is now known that Al-Ahly will receive a percentage
of Sherif's next sale, should he have one. If Ikrami
is sold during this coming season, 20% of the fee will
be the Cairo club's. Any season after that, 15% will
be their share.
