Sherif Ekramy's Feyenoord are willing to compete for
the Eredivisie after a very poor season. The club reached
agreements with Bayern Munich's Roy Mackaay, bBarcelona's
Giovanni van Brockhorst and AZ's Tim De Cler to ojin
the Rotterdammers.
After the resignation of Erwin Koeman,
the former Feyenoord manager Bert van Marwijk returned
back to coaching Feyenoord. He was the first coach for
Ghaly in Rotterdam and led the club to European qualification
a few seasons ago.
Big Name Signings for the Club:
Last season was the worst for Feyenoord
in years. They failed to qualify to Europe and conceded
many goals. The club suffered much after letting Dirk
Kuyt and Kalou go and couldn't find a replacement with
the same quality.
This summer, the club succeeded to reach
agreement with Bayern Munich veteran forward Roy Makaay
who will leave the Bavarian side after their signing
of Miroslav Klose from Bremen.
In addition to this, the club signed AZ
left back Tim De Cler and Giovanni van Brockhorst from
Barcelona, those two big signings will also strengthen
the defense and midfield.
Ekramy and the new Season:
The fans see that Ekramy has the ability to
be the main keeper next season. The Egyptian couldn't have
a fair chance last season despite the poor form of Timmer.
The situation might differ next season with Van Marwijk at
helm.
