Feyenoord manager Erwin Koeman admits that Sherif
Ekramy is challenging Henk Timmer in order to be first-choice
goalkeeper, but says that the Egyptian is still second
in the list.
Sherif performed well in his latest games, and though
Henk Timmer is currently a regular in the Holland squad,
the young Pharaoh is keen on taking his place in the
line-up. With Edwin van der Sar injured in the Netherlands'
last game, Timmer stood between the posts for his nation.
"Henk Timmer still is a little ahead of Sherif;
he is still the first man for me," Koeman is quoted
as saying on EP's partner site Netwerk.to.
"But Sherif is coming," he added.
"He is anxious to take over the position of Henk.
"That is a perfect situation, so they keep each other
sharp."
