Egyptian goalie Sherif Ekramy played his first official
game for Feyenoord this season against FC Twente. Unfortunately
for Ekramy, the homeside outplayed Feyenoord and scored
three goals in the Egyptian's net. Sherif did well despite
the three goals he conceded but he could do better with
the first goal.
Feyenoord lost heavily yet convincingly against on-form
FC Twente side by three goals to nil. Ekramy was the
man between the sticks for Feyenoord in that match after
the injury of their main goalkeeper Timmer. The Egyptian
prevented his side from the worst as he made some crucial
saves. However, Ekramy could do better in the first
goal.
The game continued as a one way traffic match as Twente
kept their pressure on Feyenoord defense. At this stage,
Ekramy shone in the crosses as he was dominant in the
air and showed good anticipation in dealing with Twente's
dangerous crosses.
In the 2nd half, the homeside added two more goals
through Kennedy Bakircioglu who slotted the ball home
from close range after beating his man in the air in
the 58th minute. The ball was difficult for Ekramy this
time as it came from close range and needed a special
reflex move to prevent the goal.
After the 2nd goal, Ekramy made a few good saves and the bar
also denied Twente from scoring the 3rd. However, Bakircioglu
continued to shine as he dribbled past a Feyenoord defender
brilliantly and shot the ball to beat Ekramy who simply had
no chance.
EgyptianPlayers.com wish Ekramy a better luck in future
