Egyptian goalie Sherif Ekramy finally got a chance to express himself with Feyenoord this season. The Egyptian started with an injury that kept him away for a while and when he came back from inujury, he started all the matches on the subs bench.

Last night, Feyenoord played against Galatasaray in the frindly tournalent the Efes Cup. The Egyptian played the full 90 minutes and was impressive as he helped his side to win the game by two goals to one.

Feyenoord took the lead through a great chip from the veteran striker Van Hoojdonk who spotted Mondragon out of his net and sent a superb 45 yeards chip to beat the Galatasaray goalkeeper and to end its path into the back of the net.

After the goal, Sherif was tested a few times before half time, his timing was good as he collected two dangerous crosses aimed into his area. However, he made a major mistake as he kicked the ball into the body of Gala's striker Negati but fortunatley, the ball hit the player and bounced back to Sherif.

Apart from this, the Egyptian showed solid performance and was confident between the sticks, he always opted for kicking the ball long into Gala's half and his kicks helped to deliver the ball quickly into Gla's half.

Galatasaray managed to level the score before half time from a penalty kick after a foul inside the box. Negati hgit the ball with power into the bottom corner and Ekramy guessed right but he couldn't stop the ball because of its speed.

In the 2nd half, Feyenoord managed to score another goal after a fine through and a one on one sityuation with Galatasaray goalkeeper Mondragon.

After the goal, Ekramy kept his net clean as he managed to scop three shots aimed at his goal, he also showed good command of the penalty area and rushed out on time to intercept the crosses from Gala side.

With help from confident Ekramy, Feyenoord won the match against a strong opponent. The Egyptian proved that he can play well at top level and that he deserves to start in official games but it seems that Timmer will be the main goalkeeper for the Rotterdammers for a while despite his poor form this season.
