Sherif Ekramy, who is the only Egyptian in Holland after Hossam Ghaly's departure, was chosen in Feyenoord's first team line-up for their league match against FC Utrecht. As expected he stayed on the bench.

Feyenood won the game 3-0 with a double from Kalou and one from Kuyt.

Feyenoord goalkeeper Patrick Lodewijks is expected to miss the next four to six weeks of the season after tearing knee ligaments in Feyenoord's draw at FC Groningen. The injured keeper is 39 years old, and Aerts, who replaced him, is expected to leave the club soon.

Sherif is sure to be the second goalkeeper in the next weeks, and this was his first selection in the first team since he moved to Europe.
