The inconsistent Caykur Rizespor managed to recover their league situation by winning 2-0 against Gaziantepspor. This means that Rize now have 8 points from as many games, taking them out of the drop zone.

Beshir played once more in the defence of Rize, and had a fine game in which his side kept a clean sheet. A poor Gaziantep side was never able to get into the match, and two first half goals were enough for Rize.

A dull game was livened early on after a spectacular strike from Altan, who hit the ball into the goal from some distance after good work from Tjikuzu.

The goalscorer couldn't carry on with around a quarter of the game on, and Rize had to cope without him. In the 31st minute, Tjikuzu managed to evade the Gaziantep goalkeeper to net the second goal of the game.

The second half saw few chances, though both keepers were called upon once each to deny further goals.

A lacklustre game which did however see some good defending from Rize ended in a 2-0 victory.

Rize face Denizli next week before two tough clashes against Besiktas and Trabzonspor...
