EXCLUSIVE:
Murat Hikmet Salar made his return to Turkish football
in the Turkiye Kupasi, while defender Beshir El Tabei
started for the first time since his injury a few weeks
back.
Despite the good news that there were two Egyptian
blooded players on the pitch, it was a bad day for Rizespor.
The club, who have struggled so far this season, lost
in the Second Round of the Turkish Cup to Sariyer GK
Istanbul, despite being at home and against a team divisions
below them.
It wasn't even a respectable loss, 0-3, showing the
poor form of Caykur Rizespor, who were constantly fighting
for a UEFA Cup place last season. But that was under
Riza Calimbay, who left to manage Besiktas, and took
some of Rize's playing force with him.
Late goals from the opponents let to the result, with
the opener in the 71st minute before two very late goals.

Salar, who has an Egyptian mother, played the goal-less first
half, in which Rize were better. "I have played only
45 minutes so far for Rizespor. I am not ready physically,"
he explained to EgyptianPlayers.com.
Keen to get back to his form at Gencler three seasons back,
he added, "I hope I will be ready soon inshallah."
Meanwhile, the Egypt international Beshir El Tabei played
a full game on his return from injury, but was not brilliant.
"Beshir is fine," assured Murat Salar.
"He is gradually getting ready."
Murat also informed EP that he and Beshir are happy together
as en Egyptian duo at the club, and got the chance to speak
to each other after Beshir's recovery.
