After a period of absence, Beshir El Tabei returned to the Rizespor selection. And after a poor run of form, the club returned with a valuable away win at Ayman Abdelaziz's ex-club Malatyaspor, keeping their impressive 5th place in the league.

Beshir played; Hosny didn't

Rize are one position behind Besiktas in the standings, making them the second-placed team in the Turkish Super League with an Egyptian in their ranks.

The game at Malatyaspor saw a great win from Beshir's side, with the Egyptian set to start at centre back against Libya playing in the centre of the midfield for the entire game! He played well, and so did his side.

The game started with attempts on goal from both outfits, but none beating either goalkeeper.

The first real chance saw Malatya's goalkeeper make a diving stop to deny a decent shot from Okan after less than quarter of an hour.

Malatya came close with Eren got away from Beshir El Tabei before slotting just wide of the target.

After a goal-less first half, Rize came out of the tunnel and scored within minutes. Serkan entered the area on the left and hit the ball slowly past the goalkeeper, who got a touch but couldn't stop the it from trickling into the side of the net.

Malatya tried to push for an equaliser, with many efforts on goal coming from all directions, all of which went wide of the posts. A final attempt saw a chip over the goalie, which almost worked, but was just a little too high.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Salah Hosny did not feature in the match squad at all.
