Amir Azmy Megahed arrived at the "Macedonia"
Airport early in the morning today, and had his first
chat with the press representatives in Thessaloniki
as a player of P.A.O.K.
"I am well-informed about P.A.O.K., I know which
football team I have just joined. I got my info from
players that had played in the team through the past
years, like (Abdelsatar) Sabry and Magdi (Tolba). They
told me I may feel a bit lonely at the beginning, but
step by step I will feel at home and people will love
the effort."
He continued, "I am ready to play any time and
what I'm aiming for is success, so I can move to an
even bigger club, perhaps in Spain."
Regarding Shikabala, who was also linked to the club,
he added, "As far as Shikabala is concerned, he
is a fast and talented player and I'm awaiting his arrival
so we can play together."

Megahed finds his new club in deep crisis. Everyone in Thessaloniki
awaited the Champions League participation in August, but
elimination in the preliminary round by Maccabi Tel-Aviv after
a disastrous penalty by UEFA (P.A.O.K. used a banned player)
filled the Macedonian side with despair. September was continued
at a decreasing rate, with UEFA CUP elimination by Dutch club
AZ Alkmaar.
The championship hopes after the European disaster were few,
and till January the club has been led to a mediocre league
table position (6th at the moment). The Greek Cup seemed the
only remaining goal to accomplish, but only till yesterday,
when an elimination by Egaleo City F.C. from Athens brought
moments of anger in P.A.O.K. fans throughout the world.
As it can be clearly understood, the January transfer window
is one bright chance for the club to build a new challenging
squad and regain respect in Greek football. So fans are waiting
for Amir Azmy to show elements of his talent and lead the
club to a new era of success...
