Shikabala continued to impress in the
Greek league and scored for PAOK in their home clash
with the Greek giants Olympiakos.
The game was the first for PAOK under
the leadership of their new Romanian coach Ilie Dumitrescu
but the side couldn't win the game because of the strength
of their opponents and the game ended in a defeat which
is the 4th in a row for PAOK.
The start was perfect as Shikabala managed
to put PAOK in the lead after just five minutes from
the kick off. Shikabala's goal came through a low cross
from the right wing to the Egyptian who beat his marker
to the ball and put it directly home with his left from
close range.
After the goal, PAOK almost doubled the
lead but the bar denied another attempt. On the other
side, Olympiakos were only dangerous through freekick's
thanks to the Brazilian veteran Rivaldo who almost hit
the target from every freekick he played. The most dangerous
chance for Olympiakos in the first half came through
a freekick which was taken by Rivaldo and his shot was
denied by the bar.

In the 32nd minute, superb individual skill from Olympiakos
Bulut led to the equalizer. Bulut managed to take the ball
past two players in tight space and passed it on the floor
from the right wing to find the onside Okkas who slotted it
home from close range.
In the 2nd half, PAOK couldn't create many chances
and so did their strong opponents. However, the individual
skills of Olympiakos players helped the side to emerge victorious
as Konstantinou dribbled past his marker inside the box and
sent the ball home into the bottom corner to give the guests
the lead.
Shikabala didn't get much support in this half
and he was caught offside a couple of time but rather than
that, PAOK couldn't cause much danger against their superior
opponents.
After the 2nd goal for Olympiakos, some angry
PAOK supporters started to throw empty bottles on the field
and they started burning the seats behind Olympiakos goal.
Due to this, the game was suspended for around 15 minutes
till the fire was extinguished.
Despite this, the angry fans continued to throw
objects on the field and so, the referee continued the match
for just a minute or two and then blew the final whistle without
counting any stoppage time.
