PAOK wasted a golden chance to beat the German giants VFB Stuttgart as they conceded two late goals and lost the home game 1-2. Amir Azmy played for 56 minutes and contributed in PAOK's goal as his header was stopped by the keeper and a teammate made the follow to score the leading goal for PAOK. Shikabala remained on bench.

PAOK almost achieved a great home victory in UEFA cup against the Bundesliga giants VFB Stuttgart. However, some silly mistakes and lack of concentration in the last minutes gave the victory to the guests.

The game was quite similar to Zamalek-Raja Casablanca match in the Arabian Champions League as a stoppage time goal gave the unexpected victory to Stuttgart while all the odds were on PAOK's favor.

While Shikabala didn't see action in the match as he remained on bench, Amir Azmy played from the start and showed a solid performance as he was the man behind PAOK's goal.

All goals came in the 2nd half, PAOK took the lead in the 48th minute thanks to Amir Azmy and the good follow from Christos Karipidis. The goal came through a corner kick from the right wing, it was played high into the near post, Amir Azmy rose high to meet the ball and powered a header at goal, the goalkeeper managed to parry it but it fell right in front of him to find the following Christos Karipidis who tapped it in from close range to give PAOK the precious lead.

In the 56th minute, Azmy Megahed came off and was replaced by Balafas. The substitution of Amir was due to his lack of match fitness as he just came back from long term injury.

After Amir's exit, things got even worse for Stuttgart as their defender Meißner was shown a 2nd yellow card after a late challenge on one of PAOK's players. Due to this, Stuttgart resumed the match with only ten men on the field.

Unfortunately, PAOK didn't take any advantage of the extra man and they even conceded a goal in the 85th minute after a naive mistake from their goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes who couldn't prevent a powerful but poorly placed shot from Ljuboja from entering his net.

In the stoppage time, lack of concentration cost PAOK another goal as their defender Udeze made a professional foul to prevent VFB's forward from getting in one on one situation with the keeper. As a result, the referee showed Udeze a straight red card and counted a penalty kick for the guests, from which they scored the winner through Ljuboja who scored the first goal as well.
