PAOK lose to Panathinaikos

PAOK lost they away encounter with Panathinaikos by a single goal. Only Shikabala saw 2nd half action as Amir didn't participate.



Amir Azmy and Shikabala's PAOK lost their second game in a row this weekend as they faced Panathinaikos in an away encounter in the Greek league.

PAOK got eliminated from cup at the hands of Agrotikos and needed to get back to form. However, their opponents were the strong Panathinaikos and the game ended in a defeat.

The only goal of the game came in the 14th minute through Mantzio who received a fine through pass from Gonzales which put on in one on one situation with the PAOK goalkeeper, Mantzio then had no problems scoring from close range to give the homeside the early lead.


PAOK didn't managed to get back to the game and their coach decided to bring Shikabala on in order to help his tammates in attack. However, PAOK couldn't score the equalizer till the final whistle.

On the other side, Amir Azmy couldn't complete the last match in cup because of injury and he wasn't available for Panathinaikos' encounter for the same reason.

After this result, PAOK still 5th in te table with 14 points. It should also be noted that PAOK will play at home on Sunday against Panionios in the Greek league.
