PAOK couldn't return home with
any points as they lost their away game against the
Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk by a single goal from
a controversial penalty kick. Amir traveled with the
team but didn't play while Shikabala came on in the
2nd half.
PAOK went to Donetsk in a hope they can
get back with the three points or at least rescue a
point from their first UEFA Cup group stage match. However,
a controversial penalty kick in the 66th minute after
a foul from Hasiotis gave the match points to the home
side.
Egyptian defender Amir Azmy recovered
from his injury and started to train with the team,
but he wasn't fit enough to start and so, he was rested
by the coach Kostikos. On the other side, Shikabala
came on after two minutes from Shakhtar's
goal in order to help PAOK get back to the game. However,
neither the Egyptian nor his teammates was able to make
a change and the game ended in a 1-0 loss for PAOK.

Aside from this news, Amir Azmy apologized for the fans for
his comments regarding the move to a bigger club in Greece
and everything seems to be forgotten.
