FC PAOK have made a press release, confirming that they have appointed George Kostikos as head-coach until the end of the season.

The manager takes over despite Lothar Mathaus being the favourite for the job.

Kostikos was previously the Technical Director, but must now march the club into success throughout the entire season, in both the Greek League and the UEFA Cup.

PAOK were landed in the group of death in the UEFA Cup, alongside VFB Stuttgart, Shakhtar Donetsk, Stade Rennais and Rapid Bucharest. The new coach however claims that he and the Thessalonica club are not afraid of anyone.
