While Amir and Shikabala were out of action due to injury, PAOK managed to drew with Metalurh 2-2 and advance to the group stage.

PAOK managed to advance to the UEFA cup group stage after their 2-2 draw with Metalurh on Thursday night. The first leg match ended in a 1-1 draw as well. However, PAOK achieved qualification thanks to their away goals.

Zakarliuka put the homeside ahead in the 39th minute from a well placed header. However, PAOK managed to score twice in the 42nd and 45th minutes respectively. Their goals came through and Salgipidis and Konstantinidis.

In the 57th minute, the home team scored the equalizer through Shishchenko but they needed another goal in order to advance to the next round.

Qualification didn't come easy for PAOK as two of their players were shown the red card in the 83rd and 85th minutes and they were forced to play with only nine men on the field.

Despite the pressure from the homeside, PAOK survived in the end and got the job done.

It should be mentioned that Amir and Shikabala didn't travel with their team as both players are currently injured. Because of this injury, Amir will not be able to join the Egyptian national team camp for the upcoming Cameroon clash.
