Shikabala

As EP reported in an update, PAOK's coach resigned after the UEFA Cup home draw.

Now, it is almost official. Lothar Matthaeus appears to be the new head coach of PAOK.

Reports suggest that the experiences German has agreed with PAOK, and PAOK officials will travel tomorrow to Munich to seal the deal. He should be in Thessaloniki on Monday to watch the Iraklis - PAOK game. The contract he will sign with PAOK is expected to be one season, with another season as an option.

Matthaeus has an impressive coaching history, as he managed Hungary's national team, as well as Rapid Vienna and Partizan Belgrade. He was linked to the Besiktas job a few seasons ago.

Amir will hope to repeat his excellent goal against Iraklis, as they meet again, but this time in the league.

EP will keep you updated on all developments...
