PAOK comfortably beat AEK Athens with an outstanding
Shikabala display. Both teams will be rivalling in the
league next season, having finished 4th and 3rd last
season, and this was another boost for the Thessaloniki
club.
15,000 PAOK fans and a Toumba stadium
wonderfully washed with colour was the last act in the
pre-season friendlies, where PAOK seemed more strong
and competitive than any other summer game.
A 2-0 win was well deserved, as Feutchine found the
net at the beginning of the second half, with Hristodoulopoulos
heading in later on to seal the victory.
Shikabala made the PAOK fans stand up and give him a
long lasting clap when he exited the pitch in the 75th
minute to give his place to youngster Hristodoulopoulos,
who scored. Some minutes before, Shikabala had dribbled
through every AEK player making the defenders look powerless!
Amir Azmy was also competitive and strong; no doubt
he will be one of the first options for Nick Karageorgiou
in the defensive line.
