Adam El Abd (Left) in action
Both Adam El-Abd and Kerry Mayo were booked
for fouls on Yossi Benayoun - whom Adam was marking
closely - and debutant Luis Boa Morte.
After a blank opening period, teenage terrier Noble
cured his side's New Year hangover with his first ever
goal for his beloved Hammers, before Cole and Mullins
finally sunk the battling Brighton.
The newcomer of Arsenal Joe O'Cearuill is joining Brighton's
defence line, while captain Adam Hammond is suffering
from a knee injury. This gives Adam a chance to play
either at centre-back or as a defensive midfielder,
which he had to do in the West Ham match in order to
keep with the Israeli Benayoun.

El-Abd admits the current schedule of games is a challenge,
mentally as much as physically. The half-Egyptian is now securing
his place in Brighton's defence even when the team is fully
available again.
