Adam El Abd (Left) in action
Adam El Abd is yet to see action with
his club after the opening two games of the season,
watching both from the substitutes bench. New signing
Paul McShane has impressed in the defence and looks
to hold onto his place ahead of El Abd.
The first game of the season saw Brighton, who only
just survived last time around, gaining a point at Derby's
Pride Park; and excellent start. Dean Hammond scored
early for Brighton, but Canadian forward Paul Peschisolido
equalised only minutes later, with the match ending
1-1.
The second game, at home but still at their temporary
Withdean Stadium, saw Reading comfortably beat Brighton
2-0. Goals came from Little and Kitson in each half
respectively. The match witnessed another good performance
from Paul McShane, with manager McGhee fielding an identical
starting eleven.

Brighton's next game is at home to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Brighton have loaned yet another goalkeeper to
fill the boots of Shaaban and Blayney from last season. This
time it is Aston Villa's Wayne Henderson.
It is worth note that El Abd's contract runs out in the summer,
and a lack of match action could see him moving from Brighton,
in order to fulfil his ambitions.
